Tonya Lewis
Groomer
(Not accepting new clients at this time)
My name is Tonya Lewis and I’ve been grooming for 18 years. I started in the pet industry about 20 years ago as a cashier at PetSmart while I was still in high school. I was always intrigued with working with animals, but I just couldn’t put my finger on where I wanted to go with it. I worked in every department at PetSmart from fish to the veterinarian clinic. At the time, I had a friend who was a groomer. She showed me how she could take an ungroomed dog and transform it into a show quality dog by using her artistic skills. From that moment, I was captivated and I knew that that’s what I wanted to do with my life. I was super happy to start my journey as I enhanced my skills at the grooming academy. A few years later I found myself wanting something different, so I left the grooming world to try and figure it out. However, I just wasn’t content with what I was doing and something kept telling me that working with dogs was where I needed to be. I couldn’t help but feel like I wanted something more though; something more than just showing off artistic skills. I learned that my happiness in grooming wasn’t just being creative ... it was that I wanted a connection with the dogs and their families. What made me happy was seeing my clients happy with their fur babies and knowing that I could help educate them in grooming as well as help them figure out how to properly take care of their pets. 20 years later, I still feel the same exact way! I love seeing all of my clients outside of the grooming salon and it makes me so happy that the key element that I was looking for all those years back has been fulfilled. It’s the relationships that I have formed that truly warms my heart.

Hi there, my name is Dallas Pittman. I began my grooming career in March 2016, and could not be happier with my decision. Since I was a little girl animals have been my passion, and with my combined love of art and all things creative, dog grooming was the most perfect fit for my life long career! I love what I do, despite the daily challenges I face, the payoff is beyond rewarding. The relationships I have gained with both humans and non-humans are what really makes this job so absolutely worth it everyday.

Madison Wright
Groomer

I am a homegrown girl, I graduated from Lambert High in 2014, and I have been grooming dogs since February 2016. Dog grooming is a weird and wonderful job. As I form relationships with my clients, dog and human, I feel blessed they let me see this little piece of themselves. For the human I am trusted to take care of something most precious to them. For dogs, if I’m lucky, they share a bond with me that is special and specific to a dog and its groomer. Sometimes it’s a little poop that somehow made it in my pocket. Every day brings something new.

Chelsea Williams
Groomer
Hi! My name is Chelsea and I have had a fascination for all things ‘animal’ and ‘art’ for as long as I could say dog and pick up a pencil. Luckily for me, dog grooming satisfies both! I worked at Dixie’s as a bather while in esthetics school and fell in love with the environment, the employees, and the clients. After obtaining my esthetics license, I returned to Dixie’s Pet Spa as a dog groomer and I haven’t looked back since-this is truly what I am meant to be doing and it is my forever career. I have really enjoyed broadening my dog knowledge by working alongside the groomers at Dixie’s and I approach each day with passion and a big love for dogs! I own a pembroke welsh corgi named Mabel and a long haired chihuahua named Beatrice-they come to work with me and can be seen napping near my station each day. I am always looking forward to meeting you and your fur kids at Dixie’s Pet Spa and striving to help them feel and look their best!
Sarah Dickerson
Groomer
Hi! My name is Sarah! I have been grooming for 21 years. I started out as a kennel tech and was lucky enough to have somebody I worked for mentor me. Once I picked up the scissors, I found my passion for grooming and made it my mission to turn every pup into a work of art! I love being able to make all the pups look and feel better. The relationships I have developed with not only the pups, but the parents as well have truly turned into a second family. I am also a mother of three, but my first baby was a Jack Russell Chihuahua named Goochie. She was my best friend and the most loyal companion anyone could ever ask for. She sadly passed away in 2015. Since then my family has grown. I look forward to embarking on this new journey in my life at Dixie's Pet Spa. I can't wait to make you and your fur babies a part of my family!

Jemila Swaby
Groomer In Training
Dixie's Next Groomer In Training
At Dixie's we like to hire team members to start with us who aspire to become a Professional Pet Groomer. We are able to attract quality employees through our Groomer in Training program.
As an incentive to help these individuals with their goals, if you schedule your pet with them for grooming you will receive 20% off your visit.
Hi! I’m Jemila, and I have lived in Cumming, Georgia for about 16 years. I have always
had a passion and love for animals since I was little but was not sure how I was going to
be able to make a career of it. I have worked in different environments from retail to
genetics labs, and still felt complacent. When I discovered Dixie’s, the environment felt
warming and exciting, because, as a bather, I was able to grow and learn more about
the pups’ personalities and needs to help them through the process. When I was
introduced to the world of grooming, I was intrigued! To know I can play a part in your
dog’s life to look and feel their best is rewarding, plus the smiles on their face afterwards
is a bonus!
Each groomer in training must have 6 months plus of tenure with Dixie's and are trained under the expertise of Tonya Lewis - our veteran groomer that has been grooming for over 25 years.
