My name is Tonya Lewis and I’ve been grooming for 18 years. I started in the pet industry about 20 years ago as a cashier at PetSmart while I was still in high school. I was always intrigued with working with animals, but I just couldn’t put my finger on where I wanted to go with it. I worked in every department at PetSmart from fish to the veterinarian clinic. At the time, I had a friend who was a groomer. She showed me how she could take an ungroomed dog and transform it into a show quality dog by using her artistic skills. From that moment, I was captivated and I knew that that’s what I wanted to do with my life. I was super happy to start my journey as I enhanced my skills at the grooming academy. A few years later I found myself wanting something different, so I left the grooming world to try and figure it out. However, I just wasn’t content with what I was doing and something kept telling me that working with dogs was where I needed to be. I couldn’t help but feel like I wanted something more though; something more than just showing off artistic skills. I learned that my happiness in grooming wasn’t just being creative ... it was that I wanted a connection with the dogs and their families. What made me happy was seeing my clients happy with their fur babies and knowing that I could help educate them in grooming as well as help them figure out how to properly take care of their pets. 20 years later, I still feel the same exact way! I love seeing all of my clients outside of the grooming salon and it makes me so happy that the key element that I was looking for all those years back has been fulfilled. It’s the relationships that I have formed that truly warms my heart.
Monday through Friday
Hi there, my name is Dallas Pittman. I began my grooming career in March 2016, and could not be happier with my decision. Since I was a little girl animals have been my passion, and with my combined love of art and all things creative, dog grooming was the most perfect fit for my life long career! I love what I do, despite the daily challenges I face, the payoff is beyond rewarding. The relationships I have gained with both humans and non-humans are what really makes this job so absolutely worth it everyday.
Tuesday through Saturday
I am a homegrown girl, I graduated from Lambert High in 2014, and I have been grooming dogs since February 2016. Dog grooming is a weird and wonderful job. As I form relationships with my clients, dog and human, I feel blessed they let me see this little piece of themselves. For the human I am trusted to take care of something most precious to them. For dogs, if I’m lucky, they share a bond with me that is special and specific to a dog and its groomer. Sometimes it’s a little poop that somehow made it in my pocket. Every day brings something new.
Tuesday through Saturday
Dixie"s Pet Spa Dixie's Pet Spa
Dixie's Pet Spa employs a team of animal loving individuals that have the very important task of getting your pet ready for their haircut with your favorite groomer - their responsibilities include bathing, drying, ear plucking and external anal gland expression on your beloved pet. If your pet is coming in for our full service bath and/or deshedding treatment they will be the individuals that will perform this for you as well as the nail trim. Please choose Dixie's Pet Spa when selecting services listed under "Full Service Bath"
My name is Chelsea and I have had a fascination for all things ‘animal’ and ‘art’ for as long as I could say dog and pick up a pencil. I have a small background in pet nutrition and have really enjoyed broadening my dog knowledge by working alongside the groomers at Dixie’s. I have a pembroke welsh corgi named Mabel who you will likely see any time I am at the shop (she’s my sidekick!) and a feisty banana ball python at home. Although I love animals more than anything, I am also in school for my esthetics license (to satisfy the artist in me). I am always looking forward to meeting you and your fur kids at Dixie’s Pet Spa and striving to help them smell and feel their best!
